Sea Keepers has added a new group of approved propulsion and engine-rebuild products to its public catalogue. The first group covers the parts that define cylinder condition, piston movement and mechanical clearances: cylinder liner SK-00001, the 90 HP Mercury FourStroke outboard SK-00002, axial adjustment ring SK-00003, gearcase ball SK-00004, band filler SK-00005, piston bodies SK-00006 and SK-00007-AV, and the piston/cylinder sleeve assembly SK-00008.
Why the part number comes before the product name
Names such as liner, piston body, adjustment ring and gearcase ball describe a function, not a guaranteed fit. Two parts can look alike and still differ in bore, compression height, oil-gallery position, surface treatment or serial-number range. A purchase request should therefore begin with the maker, engine or gearcase model, serial number, drawing reference and the exact part number. Sea Keepers item codes help track the approved catalogue record, but they do not replace the original equipment reference.
Cylinder liner SK-00001 and band filler SK-00005
The cylinder liner provides the wear surface for the piston rings and transfers combustion heat into the surrounding block and cooling system. The approved SK-00001 liner is recorded against part number 126-0739 and uses grey flake iron. Before ordering, confirm whether the application uses a dry, wet or parent-bore arrangement, then verify bore, outside diameter, flange form and any fire-ring or sealing requirement. The SK-00005 band filler, part number 9L-5854, belongs to the liner installation rather than being a general-purpose packing strip; it must be matched to the specified liner and block arrangement.
Piston bodies SK-00006 and SK-00007-AV
A piston body carries combustion load through the piston pin into the connecting rod while controlling ring position, skirt clearance and heat flow. SK-00006 is recorded under part number 557-5686 and SK-00007-AV under 567-1478. The AV suffix in the Sea Keepers item code identifies the internal ERP classification and is not a substitute for an OEM revision. Confirm crown profile, pin diameter, compression height, ring-groove dimensions, cooling-gallery design and any matching liner or ring-set requirement before release.
Sleeve and piston assembly SK-00008
SK-00008, part number 319-6715, is an assembled piston-and-cylinder-sleeve package rather than a loose piston. The approved record identifies an alloy-steel piston body with a 72 mm compression height and a 114.98 mm maximum skirt diameter. An assembly can reduce matching risk, but the buyer still needs to verify engine arrangement, cylinder position, oversize or standard condition, included rings and pin hardware, and whether the maker requires a complete cylinder-kit replacement rather than mixed old and new components.
Axial adjustment ring SK-00003
The axial adjustment ring SK-00003, part number 7620.340.145.4, is used to establish or maintain the specified end clearance of a rotating assembly. Its thickness is a setting value, so visual identification alone is unsafe. Record the measured end float, the current shim or ring thickness, the target clearance from the manual and the mating component references. Installing the wrong thickness can create impact loading when clearance is excessive or seizure and heat when it is insufficient.
Gearcase ball SK-00004
SK-00004 is the approved gearcase ball under part number 181-9023. Small hardened components are particularly easy to misidentify because catalogue photographs reveal little about grade, diameter or application revision. Confirm the gearcase model and serial range, the associated detent or shift mechanism and the quantity used per assembly. Never replace a precision ball with a general bearing ball unless the equipment maker explicitly permits it.
90 HP Mercury FourStroke outboard SK-00002
The 90 HP Mercury FourStroke outboard is a complete propulsion unit, so its specification needs more than horsepower. The approved record identifies a four-stroke petrol engine with electronic fuel injection, electric starting and water cooling. A quotation should also state shaft length, steering arrangement, control type, propeller requirement, charging output, instrumentation, rigging harness, fuel-system accessories and the operating craft. These installation details determine whether the engine can be commissioned without a second shipment of controls and fittings.
A purchase package that prevents wrong-part deliveries
For every engine component, attach a clear nameplate photograph, the equipment model and serial number, the current part marking, relevant manual or exploded-view page, required quantity and delivery port. Add dimensional checks when the old component can be measured, but treat measurements as supporting evidence rather than permission to ignore the maker reference. For critical rebuilds, request certificate, inspection and preservation requirements before the purchase order is issued.
Sea Keepers approved catalogue workflow
Each product linked below has passed through the Sea Keepers Product Master approval workflow and has its own public specification page and quote route. The approval confirms that the catalogue record and image have been reviewed for publication; final compatibility remains tied to the vessel, engine and serial-number evidence supplied with the enquiry.
For the business buyer
Confirm the intended vessel or facility, operating environment, quantity and required approval before requesting a quotation. Capacity, coverage and service interval should be matched to the risk rather than selected by headline price.
For technical experts
Verify the delivered model against the maker reference, rating, dimensions, materials, operating limits and certification scope. Record the serial or batch number and retain the manufacturer datasheet, declaration, test report and maintenance instructions in the vessel file.
Product comparison
Compare alternatives on certified performance, compatibility, installation requirements, inspection interval, spares availability and total life-cycle cost. A lower unit price is not a like-for-like comparison when approval documents or service support differ.
